Author Nancy B. Kennedy talks about “Women Win the Vote!”

Celebrate the suffrage centennial with Nancy B. Kennedy and her new book, “Women Win the Vote! 19 for the 19th Amendment.” This vividly illustrated book from Norton Young Readers introduces middle grade readers (and adults, too!) to the suffragists who fought so passionately and persistently for the woman’s vote. In 2020, we celebrate their victory with the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920 after a 72-year battle.

Women Win the Vote: The Suffrage Fight in Three Acts

The Pennington Public Library (NJ) sponsored my talk, “Women Win the Vote! The Suffrage Fight in Three Acts,” on August 18, 2020, the date of the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote through ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. In this talk, I introduce three of the suffragists in my book, “Women Win the Vote! 19 for the 19th Amendment” — Lucretia Mott, Ida B. Wells-Barnett and Alice Paul. More about this past event.
