I love to talk about the suffrage fight! If you are inquiring about a visit (in person or virtual), please let me know what your interest is. I’ve prepared several talks to engage audiences of all ages.
- This Sacred Soil. A slideshow talk that explores New Jersey’s 1776 Constitution granting some women in New Jersey the right to vote. We have the voting rolls to prove it! You’ll also meet women throughout the colonies who performed heroic deeds during the American Revolution but still were denied a voice in our government when the Constitution was drawn up in 1787. Celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary with these brave and pioneering women!
- The 19th Amendment in 9 Objects. A slideshow talk that tells the suffrage story through historical objects and photos. Upper elementary through high school. 40 minutes.
- Yes! The Suffragists Had Swag! A show-and-tell talk for younger audiences. I share suffrage keepsakes and historical photos that I’ve collected over the years. Ages 7+. 30 minutes.
- Choosing to Conquer: The Women Who Won the Vote. A slideshow talk of the suffrage fight told through historical and current-day photos. Teens and adults. 50 minutes.
- Meet Elizabeth, Lucy and Ida (And a Few of Their Friends). A mini-play that tells the suffrage story through the words of the suffragists. Audience participation makes this talk a lot of fun! Children or adults. 30 minutes.
Thank you! I look forward to talking with you about our visit.
