Choosing to Conquer: The Women Who Won the Vote
Take a whirlwind tour through the 72-year fight for the woman’s vote with Nancy B. Kennedy, author of Women Win the Vote! 19 for the 19th Amendment. In her program, “Choosing to Conquer: The Women Who Won the Vote,” you’ll be immersed in this epic civil rights battle through a trove of historic and current-day photos. And the fight didn’t just happen at the national level — Westfield suffragists worked hard for the cause! Come and discover history that was made right here in New Jersey.
Guests are welcome to attend this program, which is part of the Westfield Historical Society’s First Wednesday Luncheon series. The event will take place at noon on Wednesday, February 5, on the 2d floor of Ferraro’s Restaurant, 14 Elm St., Westfield, NJ 07090. Event fee is $40 for Westfield Historical Society members and $45 for non-members. The luncheon includes a three-course meal, coffee/tea, and gratuity. Please advise upon registering if there are any special dietary needs. Guest check-in and luncheon orders take place at 11:45 am. the morning of the program.
