Choosing to Conquer: The Women Who Won the Vote

Celebrate Women’s Equality Day at the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument! In this presentation, Nancy B. Kennedy, author of “Women Win the Vote! 19 for the 19th Amendment,” will present a program of historic and current day photos that tell the suffrage story, with an emphasis on Alva Belmont and Alice Paul, whose National Woman’s Party was headquartered in this building for decades. The program starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, and is free and open to the public. In addition to the talk, a craft and activity table will be available for children who attend with their parents. The museum is located at 144 Constitution Ave. NE, Washington DC 20002.
