What U.S. 1 Really Taught Me

Twenty odd years ago, when I started freelance writing, I worked for a great local newspaper, U.S. 1. On the anniversary of the paper's 25th anniversary, I wrote this column on working for U.S. 1. I say "working" because we writers were expected to not just write, but deliver the paper as well! In this pseudo-paean to my editor, Richard Rein, I reveal what exactly he taught me during my stint there.
